A cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after getting run over TWICE in Northendon on Sunday.
The 35-year-old was hit by a blue Suzuki as he stopped at a junction on Palatine Road – and then a silver Mercedes also collided with him.
He suffered serious chest injuries in the incident and remains in intensive care in a critical condition.
Police Sergeant Danny Byrne from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the cyclist and his family at this time, as the man remains seriously ill in hospital.”
The incident occurred at 8am as the cyclist reached the junction of Moor Lane, as he was heading towards Princess Parkway.
“We are investigating the circumstances surrounding this collision and are appealing for anyone who either witnessed the incident, or saw any of those involved in it driving on or near Palatine Road beforehand, to contact us,” PC Byrne said.
