Stockport starlets Blossoms announce biggest headline show at Wythenshawe Park

The indie-pop sensations have revealed that they will be playing their biggest headline show to date, at Wythenshawe Park on Sunday 25 August 2024.

The 30,000-capacity venue will be an all-day concert, with a star-studded lineup announced to join the five-piece band.

Dublin sensations Inhaler, Britpop legends Shed Seven, The K’s, Seb Lowe and TTRRUUCES will all be the supporting acts on the bank holiday weekend.

Tickets go on sale on 10 November, following on from the success of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, who played there this summer.

Fans can additionally pre-order their forthcoming album, expected to be released in Summer 2024, to gain pre-sale access.

Speaking about the show, Blossoms’ frontman, Tom Ogden, said: “Headlining our biggest show yet at Wythenshawe Park is going to be THE moment of our career so far for us.

“It makes me think of me and Joe going to watch Oasis and The Stone Roses at Heaton Park back when we were teenagers and how important these big summer Manchester shows are to people.

“It made us want to be in a band, affected what we wore and changed our lives forever.

“To misquote Dorothy, ‘Lads, I’ve a feeling we’re not on Oldham Street anymore!’”

The announcement of the show follows on from their newly released single ‘To Do List (After The Breakup)’, which features Findlay and is produced by long-term producer James Skelly.

This is the first song to be released on Blossoms’ new record label ODD SK, inspired by the members’ surnames, as well as their home town of Stockport.

The band have enjoyed widespread success and acclaim after five top five albums in the UK and BRIT Award and Mercury Prize nominations.

This new show comes off the back of a whirlwind summer after selling out Castlefield Bowl, headlining Tramlines and Kendal Calling, as well as a surprise set at Glastonbury with Rick Astley.

Pre-sale can be ordered here.
