WATCH: Parents hold concert in memory of late son

Two grieving parents held a fundraising concert one year after their son’s death.

Ronak and Kasia Halani held “Jak’s World” at Factory Manchester on February 2 in tribute to Jakub Halani, their late 19-year-old son who took his own life.

His father, Ronak, said: “He was the pride and joy of our family, he was my only son, he was extremely intelligent and sensitive.”

As an aspiring musician, the concert was filled with performances from artists who he worked with, some of which also used his beats in their performances.

The money collected through ticket sales for the event went towards Kasia and Ronak’s non-profit organisation called Jak’s World, which they set up after Jakub’s death to offer emotional first aid as well as financial and educational advice.

Volunteers from the Samaritans charity also attended the concert to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention.
