CCTV: Suspect caught on camera after ‘terrified’ travel agents held-up by knife-wielding robber

By Danielle Wainwright

A CCTV image of a man suspected of stealing Euros after threatening travel agent staff with a knife and fleeing down an alley last month has been released.

The incident occurred on Friday August 16 at around 10.15am when a man walked into the store on Church Street in Littleborough, pulled out a knife and ordered all staff to get into the back.

The man then stole a large sum of Euros, demanded that the back door be opened for him and fled down an alley.

Detective Constable Hannah Greetham said: “This was a terrifying experience for the victims, although thankfully none of them were hurt.

“We have carried out a number of enquiries since this incident, and would urge anyone who may recognise the man pictured to call us.”

He is described as being a white man, of stocky build, in his early 30s and about 5ft 10 in tall. He was wearing a grey beanie hat, black jacket, blue jeans and black gloves.

Anyone with any information should call police on 0161 856 8552 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
