JAILED: Evil Salford predator who raped girl, 13, while her family slept unaware in room next door

By Danielle Wainwright

A rapist who sneaked into a Salford family’s home to rape their 13-year-old daughter while they slept soundly in the room next door was jailed today and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Kenneth Knowles, 29, of no fixed address was handed a 13-year jail sentence at Manchester Minshull Crown Court after being found guilty for the rape on October 1 2011.

Knowles had entered the home of the family in Irlam without their knowledge and began sleeping on the sofa.

He then sneaked into the victim’s bedroom while the rest of the family were sleeping, got into the bed with her and raped her.

Detective Constable Nicola Wood, of GMP’s Serious Sexual Offences Unit, said: “A girl of just 13 years old was sleeping soundly in her bed at home when Knowles entered her address without her knowledge and raped her.

“This appalling crime and the impact it has had on the victim is incomprehensible to contemplate.

“Knowles refused to admit his guilt so I must credit her unwavering bravery in supporting the prosecution that has today seen a dangerous sex offender jailed.”
