Who will be crowned Miss Manchester? Beauty queens to reign at Palace Hotel for contest of tears and tiaras

The city’s most beautiful women will battle it out to be crowned Miss Manchester at the Palace Hotel next Thursday.

This will be the tenth iteration of the competition as the event will be celebrating a decade of tears, tiaras and Mancunian beauty.

The competition will have a plethora of celebrity judges on the panel with Corrie’s Kym Marsh, Manchester’s finest Chelsea Healey and notorious ladies man Calum Best all putting the hopefuls through their paces.

Competitors have been whittled down over the last few months and the final few girls will be strutting their stuff in the hopes of winning the title and duties bestowed upon the wearer of the coveted crown.

The true prize of a place in the Miss England finals awaits on June 14-16 in Torbay.

The winner will also have a photo shoot with renowned celebrity photographer Lesauvage, a five-star luxury spa break in Malta and a Delanicci Extreme watch set.

This year, the competition will support three charities with funds raised on the night: Variety Children’s charity, Forever Manchester and Haiyan Typhoon.

Discussing the event, Entertainment Today’s Joanne Clayton said: “This tenth anniversary event promises to be our best yet – we have some stunning competitors including student doctors, dentists, linguists, teachers and even identical twins.”

She added: “The event has a history of raising thousands of pounds for charity and we are looking forward to supporting these three important causes this year.”

Contestants for the competition were already sizing up life in the royal lane when they arrived at the Palace Hotel for some pre-event shots ahead of the grand final.

Forever Manchester’s superhero Captain Manchester was luckily on-hand to rescue the girls from their ‘ugly sisters’ and to make sure they made it to the ball on time.

Tickets for the live final are now available from £35. For more information and to purchase tickets click visit the Miss Manchester website
