A woman was spat on and punched in the face by a man in a Rochdale takeaway last month, with police still hunting the ‘muscular’ attacker.

The offenders, a man and a woman, had started an argument with the 22-year-old victim at Planet USA takeaway on South Parade before launching an attack which left her seriously injured.

The man spat at the victim and punched her in the face causing an injury to her lip while the other woman then grabbed her hair and pulled her to the floor at around 4am on Monday May 27.

PC Laura Bailey said: “We are urging anyone who witnessed this attack on bank holiday weekend to call police.

“In particular, we believe there was another woman present who may know who the offender is. If this was you, or you know who it was, please get in touch.”

The man is described as white, around 5ft 6in tall and muscular. He was aged in his early 20s and has short brown hair.

He was wearing a light coloured t-shirt with light coloured jeans and possibly had a tattoo on one of his arms.

The woman is described as white, around 5ft 5in tall and slim. She is aged in her early 20s and has long brown hair. She was wearing a fitted leopard print dress at the time of the assault.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or the Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
