Flasher targets lone female cyclist in ‘disgusting’ Gorton incident – police release e-fit in hunt

By Danielle Wainwright

A man flashed a female cyclist as she biked home alone in Gorton last week, leaving her ‘quite rightly disgusted’.

The 26-year-old woman was shaken and distressed when the man exposed himself to her as she cycled home alone along the Fallowfield Loop at about 5.45pm on Wednesday June 12.

The offender was waiting along the side of the path near Hyde Road, before he stepped out as she approached and flashed.

Police have now released an e-fit of the man and are appealing for information from the public.

Detective Constable Paddy Connell at Newton Heath Police Station, said: “Flashers like this might seem relatively harmless to some, but I can assure you this is a serious sexual offence which has left a lone woman feeling distraught.

“He exposed himself on this occasion, but we do not know what his true intentions were.

“This was a very distressing incident for the victim and she was quite rightly disgusted by it.

“Do you recognise the man in this image, if so please call us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 3832 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
