BBC radio station 6 Music has announced plans for a two-day festival in the city next month.

The station, which is broadcasting live from Manchester all day, has just announced the first three acts for the 6 Music Festival, which takes place at the Victoria Warehouse on February 28 and March 1.

Metronomy, Drenge, Haim and The National will all play the venue, which has also played host to The Warehouse Project in the last few months.

Doves’ frontman Jimi Goodwin, Luke Sital-Singh and Nick Mulvey have also been added to the 30-strong bill.

Morning show presenter Lauren Laverne, broadcasting live from Piccadilly Records in Oldham Street, is expected to announce further bands and DJs before 1pm.
