A 26-year-old man has been arrested after a 13-year-old boy was lured to St Mary’s Church, Droylsden and offered cash for sex acts.

The teenager had boarded a tram at the Clayton Hall Metrolink at around 11.35pm on Wednesday September 12 when he was befriended by a man.

When they both disembarked at Droylsden the man asked the boy if he would like to ‘look at gargoyles’ at a nearby church.

The boy agreed and when they arrived the man asked the youngster to touch him sexually. When he refused the man offered to touch him in exchange for money. The boy again declined and no physical activity took place.

The man was arrested on suspicion of inciting a child under 16 to commit a sexual act and has been bailed pending further inquiries until in November.

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 9448 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
