‘Stunning’: Manchester House of Fraser wins title of best decorated store for Christmas

The 800,000 white fairy lights adorning Manchester’s House of Fraser have won the best decorated store title in the chain’s annual competition.

The Deansgate department store is also home to nine 20ft Christmas trees across the front canopy, and is displaying pastel wigs in their fashion window mirroring their TV advert.

WELL DESERVED: The best decorated House of Fraser in the country

Store manager at House of Fraser, Anne Latham, said: “House of Fraser Manchester is such an iconic landmark within the city and evokes so many festive memories for people, so this year we really wanted to create an impact with our Christmas lights.

“The decorative lights will help to make Deansgate feel even more festive and will really impress both tourists and locals in Manchester.”

The city’s store has been a highly regarded luxury shop for over 175 years and is one of the 380 businesses in Manchester’s Business Improvement District.

Phil Schulze, Hear of the Manchester Business Improvement Districts Manager, said: “House of Fraser Manchester has truly excelled itself this Christmas.

“A fantastic and well-deserved honour, the store’s exterior looks stunning in and is proving to be an attraction in its own right!”
