Victim followed into Brewdog pub toilets in Manchester Bank Holiday sexual assault

A sexual assault which saw a 35-year-old woman followed into the ladies toilets before being attacked inside the Brewdog pub on Peter Street has prompted a city-wide hunt for a suspect.

At 5.50pm on Sunday May 24, the victim was followed into the ladies toilet by a man who assaulted her then left.

Police were called, and an investigation has been launched, with GMP today releasing an image of a man they are looking to speak to in connection with the attack.

Detective Sergeant Shagufta Khan said: “Specialist officers have been speaking to the victim as she has understandably been left shaken by what happened.

“She was out enjoying drinks with her friends for the Bank Holiday weekend before she was attacked.

“We believe the man may have spoken to the group before the incident and I would ask anyone who may have seen him to contact police.

“Following a search of the bar’s CCTV, we have found the image of a person we would like to speak to.  If you are the person in the image or if you recognise him, please call us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 3521 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
