Luis Rubiales resigns – After significant pressure, Rubiales, the head of Spain’s football federation, resigned after grabbing and kissing player Jenni Hermoso, after Spain’s Women’s World Cup win.

Record-breaking Verstappen – Formula One champion Max Verstappen won a record 10th straight F1 race in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Verstappen won 19 out of 22 races in the most dominant season in the history of the sport.
