Sale Sharks need to build on their good start to the season when they face Worcester, says captain Dan Braid

By Alan Ross

Dan Braid thinks victory against Worcester tonight is crucial to building upon Sale Sharks’ solid start to the season.

Worcester travel in search of their first win of the season in the league and will be buoyed by a strong performance in the LV Cup when they ran Leicester Tigers close.

But Sale captain Braid believes that the Sharks must push on into the New Year to secure the gains they have made so far.

“It’s a crucial couple of months. We came into the season flying and we’ve got some confidence in our abilities and what we can do,” he told the club website.

“We have to target our games where we can. We got come confidence back with the LV= Cup win at Harlequins last Friday and now it’s about really hitting Worcester at home, Saracens away and London Irish at home. They are three games which are really, really important for us.

“It’s up to us to make sure that we go into Christmas in a good position in the table. You don’t want to be under pressure going into the New Year.”
