Some of Manchester United’s biggest stars have taken a break from the intensity of pre-season training to star in a Japanese commercial…for tomato juice.
The bizarre advert shows Robin Van Persie, Michael Carrick, Ryan Giggs, and Japan’s own Shinji Kagawa gulping down tomato juice before awkwardly smiling and talking to the camera – in Japanese!
Van Persie gives a solid performance although it is being reported that he will be overlooked when it comes to Oscar season.
Similarly Michael Carrick, although not on his finest form, does a good job despite a clear awkwardness as he gulps down juice.
However, Ryan Giggs rolled back the years and brought a youthful enthusiasm to the role that really steals the show and will have directors vying for his talents.
