Top speaker line-up for IP EXPO Manchester revealed

The IP EXPO Manchester kicks off in the city next week with a top line-up of speakers from the likes of the BBC, TalkTalk and Manchester City Council.

IP EXPO Manchester will take place on May 20-21 at Manchester Central and will cover the key topics that IT management teams are focused on; IT infrastructure, analytics, cloud services, mobility, cyber security and data centre technologies.

The event will bring the latest thinking on these topics within easy reach of thousands of businesses and IT professionals in the Midlands and the North of England, through the successful mix of technology demonstrations and a high quality speaker programme – similar to what was seen at this year’s IP EXPO Europe.

Council leader Sir Richard Leese will open the event on Wednesday when he will share his vision for Manchester as a European technology hub, welcoming Dr Neil McArthur of TalkTalk to share the stage with him and discuss a joint view.

Gareth Stockdale, head of operations and public affairs for BBC Learning will be joining the keynote line-up to discuss the Make it Digital initiative, designed to highlight the world of digital and help to build the UK’s digital skill sets through a range of programmes and partnerships, including the Micro bit device, which will provide an introduction to coding for over 1million Year 7 children across the UK.

Ian Massingham, technical evangelist for Amazon Web Services and James Cronin, engineering VP of NetSuite, are also on the bill on Wednesday.

Bill Hammond, Group Event Director at Imago Techmedia, said: “Manchester has a vibrant, thriving technology scene, not least because of the buzz around Tech North.

“We are delighted to be bringing IP EXPO to Manchester for 2015, offering top-of-the-range technologies and education to organisations in the Midlands and across the North – particularly within enterprise and the public sector.

IP EXPO Manchester will bring together more than 72 exhibitors, 65 free-to-attend seminars and five theatres all under one roof. For 2015, IP EXPO Manchester also hosts the TMRW Conference, keynoted by Professor Brian Cox.
